After long journey I have finally arrived to Nyahururu. It took me 46 hours to get here (counting from the moment when I said ‘good-bye’ to Agnieszka and Sara). So, I’m really happy that I got here safely. It doesn’t apply to my luggage though, as it still is travelling “who-knows-where”, but Rafaela from St.Martin is right now at Nairobi airport and is trying to track it down for me (Thanks for that!). And fingers crossed 😉

This evening I was invited for the meal at Effatha Home. I must say, that the way they welcomed me was very overwhelming, and left me speechless. This community has so much energy, so much joy. It was 2 hours meal. But it wasn’t only about eating. It was a real feast! A lot of singing, dancing, then singing again, and all of that mixed also with sharing about the past day.

I remember the core members, when they came to visit the house last November. Some of them were very shy, others didn’t have confidence to say anything. Now all of them just shine!

After the meal we had a prayer in the chapel.

Thank you Effatha for this evening!

  1. Thanks, Dominik, for sharing this joyful news with us all.
What a wonderful welcome you received in Effatha House!
You deserve it. It shows that they are already blossoming as a L’Arche community if they can alreaday offer such a shining example of the gift of welcome. It reminds me of our visit last November and the richness of that moment. I am glad that you arrrived safely after your long journey and I wish you well in the coming weeks.
