I can’t believe that it’s only 4 weeks until we go back for our Holidays to Europe. Our minds are already there, but there is still a lot to do before we go. Next week we have all day celebrations to remember one year since L’Arche Kenya – Effatha Home was opened. Then in two weeks we will celebrate St.Martin’s day.
Also our past few weeks were far from quiet. On 24th October we celebrated Agnieszka’s birthday. I could try to write about the event, but you will get better idea of what it was like it you will take a look at the photos. But for sure you could find all aspects of a good party… We had good food, a cake, some beer, lots of music and dancing, and a Kenyan accent – washing of the person who is celebrating birthday… All core members of L’Arche Kenya had their turn to pour some water on Agnieszka. Everybody enjoyed this part the most (Well, maybe Agnieszka wasn’t very pleased)…
Then, last Saturday all people who work in St.Martin and L’Arche Kenya went for the whole day for staff outing. There were a few places to choose from. Some people went to climb Mount Longonot, some went to relax in one of the lodges, where they could go swimming, horse riding or take a ride on a boat. I went with most people from L’Arche and Marleen Project to walk on Crescent Island. Everybody enjoyed the walk, as you can see on the photos in the gallery. After the walk we all went for lunch, and then came back to Nyahururu.
And finally – in the week time we also don’t get bored. Now our workshops are very busy with the preparations for the upcoming events, but also with preparing items for Christmas. Also we have started a new activity – the Bakery Workshop, which turned to be very successful, and we can’t meet the demand for the biscuits and cakes.
